Move and Store

A couple of weeks ago, I was tasked to coordinate with our accredited movers and storage contractor for the transfer of a few items from our office in Quezon City to the storage space we are renting in Taguig. The number of items for storage grew because of the renovations and improvements that were completed just recently. Our storage in the office can no longer accommodate it; we have no big storage area actually (big grin). The pullout and move of the items to our storage was completed as scheduled. And today, I was tasked to request for a discount from our contractor (big grin); its paying time. The price they quoted is actually pretty high. It is understandable that we should request for a discount; and our contractor generously gave us a discount of 30%.

Moving and storing stuff are really not that easy. The packing of the items take time; and you have to tag it, especially if you are keeping a number of items in a box, to make sure that you would be able to identify the contents of the box. Hauling these items is also difficult. There are items that you have to handle with extra care. You also need to consider the distance that you need to travel from the pick up point to the storage area. I saw this interesting site of a long distance moving specialist in the US. They are coast to coast moving specialist. They are moving companies Los Angeles, moving companies San Francisco and moving companies New York. Geez.. they truly are long distance movers. And I can just imagine how hard their process for estimating cost of moving from coast to coast; before they provide pricing to their customers. Oh well, it is a good thing that I am on the customer side of the business realm (big grin); my concern would be more on asking for discounts, hehehe...
