My First Instruments

My officemate brought her guitar to the office for the First Friday Mass last week. After office hours, we had some kind of a jamming session :-) It made me remember the days when I was still trying to learn how to play the guitar.
I love music. Next to poetry, I think music is a very good way of expressing thoughts and emotions. Music is actually poetry with melody :-)

When I was a child, I always listen to the radio and memorize the lyrics of my favorite songs. And sometimes, I would save my school money so I can buy song magazines. I also wanted to learn how to play the piano, but unfortunately, we cannot afford piano lessons; and we don't have a piano, hehehe... My parents bought me a banduria instead. Paying for banduria lessons was not a problem since there are free lessons on how to play the banduria in our school.

I was in high school when I started to learn how to play the guitar. My Dad bought a guitar for my brother. Sometimes I would borrow it from him and try to learn how to play my favorite songs. I'm proud that I'm able to learn to play the guitar by myself.

And so now instead of playing the piano and collecting piano sheet music of my favorite songs, I am enjoying my own guitar (my Dad bought me a new one on my birthday, a few years ago) and I am collecting song magazines with my favorite songs and chords.
