Friends. Pal. Buddy. Comrade. Companion. Partner. Playmate. Chum. Ally. Among the definitions of the word "friend", the most that I like is -
Do you know that the word "friend" also means "lover"? This is based on the history of the word, which is Latin and its relationship with Greek some words. Anyway, this post is not really about the origin of the word "friend". I just want to give a brief definition and little background of the word. But my real aim is to share one of the most precious warm treasures I have in my life..

In my lifetime, I have ... five sets of friends, whom I met and became friends with during the different stages of my life. I will group them based on these stages - elementary, high school, college, work place and my playmates when I was not in school yet.

Among these sets of friends, I am more close with my friends from my work place. This natural since I spend most of my time at work. But this does not mean that I do not value the friends I made from the other stages of my life the same as I value my friends at the work place.

Each of them form part of my life. Each one have their share; each one left a mark in my heart. They are my playmates, my chum, my best friend, my buddy, my partner, my colleague. They are my witness. They shared an important detail of me. They know my strength, my weakness, my fears, my goals, my dreams, my secrets and my prayers.

They were there the first time I got a wounded knee. They were there the first time I got recognized at school. There were there the first time I had a broken heart. They were there when I feel like nothing is going right, and nobody understands.
My friends. They have done a great deal of things in my life which made me who I am now. Its true what they say - "Tell me who your friends are, and I'll tell you who you are". I am very thankful for having great friends. I was blessed with great, true friends.
